Presented by Community First Foundation and FirstBank, Colorado Gives Day will take place during a 24-hour period on Tuesday, December 6th, 2011. Starting at 12:00 a.m. every dollar donated through the www.givingfirst.org website will be increased from it’s original value, with a goal to inspire and unite donor support for The Rita Fund, as well as hundreds of other local nonprofits.
The advantage of giving on this day through this site is all credit card and processing fees will be covered by Community First Foundation and sponsors so that 100% of your donation goes directly to your charity of choice.
New to Colorado Gives Day 2011 are Bonus Bucks, prizes in the amount of $1,000 each. During each hour on Colorado Gives Day, a donor will be randomly chosen and the nonprofit associated with his or her donation will receive the cash prize. Bonus Bucks are sponsored by local businesses who wish to support Colorado nonprofits and play a role in Colorado Gives Day. The more contributions received, the greater the potential for even more prizes to be given away during the 24-hour period.
FirstBank has renewed its role as corporate partner of Colorado Gives Day, committing $500,000 to kick off the 2011 campaign including $300,000 for the FirstBank Incentive Fund. The FirstBank Incentive Fund will be proportionally allocated across all donations received, increasing the value of each donation. FirstBank is also sponsoring 12 new High Five prizes at $5,000 each. High Five prizes, created to stimulate giving and reward nonprofits for achieving specific goals, include Top Dollars Raised, Top Number of Donations and Top Dollars Raised through GivingFirst.org fundraising pages.
Community First Foundation, a Denver-based foundation dedicated to increasing community generosity and involvement, and FirstBank partnered last year on the inaugural Colorado Gives Day, which distributed $8.7 million to Colorado nonprofits.
In addition to fundraising, Colorado Gives Day raises awareness of the state’s nonprofit sector and educates communities on the benefits of online giving.
Created and managed by Community First Foundation, GivingFirst.org is an online resource that profiles Colorado charities and encourages charitable giving by providing comprehensive, objective, and up-to-date information about hundreds of Colorado nonprofits.
