Mediterranean Women’s Fund (France)The Mediterreanean Women’s Fund was created in 2008 by a group of activists in the region. The fund now works in 20 countries all sharing common cultural norms like economic disparities, violence against women, sexual aggression and “crimes of honor”. Though only 2 years old, the fund is already providing vital grants, network building, and peer-to-peer learning in order to build a stronger women’s movement in the region. |

Fondo Centroamericano de Mujeres (Nicaragua)Operating in 6 countries, FCAM is the only fund in the region that mobilizes resources to support women’s organizations in Central America. Over its 6 years, FCAM’s grant-making has grown from supporting 5 women’s groups in 2003 to 122 in 2009. Through grant-making and peer-learning, FCAM supports local women’s groups that play a significant role in shaping the region, prioritizing young women led groups and those with little to no access to funding. |

Fondo Alquimia (Chile)Founded in 1995 after the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, Fondo Alquimia strives to strengthen the regional women’s movement by supporting grassroots women’s organizations, specifically the marginalized sectors of Chilean society. Over its 8 year history, the Fund has supported over 135 groups and has been directly linked to the work of feminist organizations, providing direct grants and capacity building. |

International Network of Women’s Funds (Mexico)Founded in 1998, the INWF is a unique network serving as the base of support for the growing women’s fund movements. It creates spaces for funds to engage in peer learning and community building. Collectively, INWF and its members, including The Rita Fund, promote a vision of “giving” based on the principles of trust and empowerment. Over its 13-year history, the INWF has helped to strengthen the political and financial capacity of women’s funds. |
